Elisa Lassiter brings over two decades of dedicated public service, community advocacy, and policy expertise to the Georgia House of Representatives, District 40. As an intentional servant leader, her journey began with advocating for the disenfranchised with homeless and mental health services and laterally with AmeriCorps, where she managed significant grants and fostered public-private partnerships. This page shares her story, her unwavering commitment to equity, and her vision for a stronger community.

Experience that serves our community

With over twenty years in state and local government and non-profit organizations, Elisa has developed a strong background in program management, grant administration, and client services. Her diverse experience includes vital work in affordable housing, psychiatric rehabilitation, gerontology, career development, and collaborative community homeless outreach, ensuring that vital services reach those who need them most.

A foundation built on knowledge and impact

Prior to AmeriCorps, Elisa served with The Atlanta Regional Commission, playing a pivotal role in the procurement and evaluation process for aging services in the Atlanta region. Her publication, "Issues in Senior Housing: How Affordable is Aging in Place?", was instrumental in advancing senior housing studies in Cobb County, Georgia. This foundational work underscores her deep understanding of critical community needs.

Dedicated to equity and opportunity

An Atlanta native, Elisa holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Georgia State University and a Master of Science in Counseling and Psychology from The University of West Alabama. She is a certified federal grants manager, gerontologist, Special Education Educator (K-12) for Georgia, and a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner. Driven by core values of equity and opportunity, Elisa dedicates her free time to serving her family and community.
